WHY WITNESS TO THE MUSLIMS?
1. Because God loves them
immeasurably even as He does me. -- “For God so loved the world, that He gave
His only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting
life.” (John 3:16)
2. Because God wants to save
them and give them eternal life. -- “God our
Savior.. .who will have all men to be saved and come unto
the knowledge of the truth” (I Timothy 2:3, 4)
3. Because God has provided
everything necessary for their salvation in Christ.
-- “For I am not ashamed of th gospel of Christ, for it is
the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth...” (Romans 1:16)
4. Because their religion
gives them a false idea of God and the gospel. -- “But if our gospel be hid, it
is hid to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world hath blinded the
minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of
Christ who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” (II Corinthians 4:3,
4)
5. Because without Christ
they are lost forever. -- “Neither is there salvation in any other, for there
is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved”
(Acts 4:12)
6. Because Jesus Christ
commands me to proclaim this gospel to everyone everywhere. -- “And he said
unto them, Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”
(Mark 16:15)
7. Because this command to
witness includes even resistant peoples. -- “All day long I have stretched
forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying
people.” (Romans 10:21)
8. Because the awfulness of
judgement and my fear of God should compel it.
-- . . .we may be accepted of him. For we must all appear
before the
judgement seat of Christ, that everyone may receive the
things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or
bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the world, we persuade men...” (II
Corinthians 5:9-11)
9. Because the driving force of
Christ’s love for men must express itself by me.
-- “For the love of Christ constraineth us, because we
thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead. And that he died for
all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto
him which died for them and rose again.” (II Corinthians 5:14-15)
10. Because of what the Muslim
can become through the transforming power of Christ. -- “Wherefore henceforth
know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the
flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. Therefore if any man be in
Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things
are become new.” (II Corinthians 5:16, 17)
